My Morning Routine

The morning really is my most favourite time of the day and I'm always intrigued how others spend their time in the morning...

For me I LOVE to get up early, around 5.30am, and be awake whilst it feels as though the world is so quiet and peaceful. I set an my alarm on my phone, which I keep the other side of the bedroom as I don't like to keep the phone by my bed. I have a calming alarm tone which I love.

I believe how you spend the first hour of your day dictates your day ahead....

I start the morning by brushing my teeth and drinking a large glass of water. I then either do some exercise, a yoga session or take my red fox labrador dog (Flame) for a walk. I am definitely my happiest when I'm in nature. The early mornings just feel so calm and peaceful and I love to watch the seasons change.

After I have a very cold shower, as cold as it can be. I absolutely love the feeling of being in cold water. I find it so exhilarating! I then do my breathing exercises. I do this using The Wim Hof App which I love. I really appreciate this time on my own before the boys wake up. I feel ready to face the day ahead with a smile on my face feeling very grateful.

During the week I then wake my two beautiful boys up for school. This goes differently every morning!! Having the time before to get myself mentally and physically ready for the day ahead allows me to give them my time e.g The boys not wanting to get out of bed or the dog running off with a school shoe etc…

I then prepare breakfast as I like us all to eat together at the table before they go off to school. This is a special time & luckily they are big fans of the granola too!!

If I don't make time for myself in the morning, I feel like I am trying to play catch up all day.

I used to really struggle to get out of bed in the morning. I would keep pressing the snooze button on my alarm and then reluctantly drag myself out of bed. I would then have to rush around and the morning would feel chaotic. Then a few years ago my brother recommended I read a book called "Miracle Morning" by Hel Elrod. This book really motivated me to get up in the morning, strive to become the best version of myself and to create the life I wanted to live. Nina Level 10! I am still constantly striving now. I would highly recommend reading this book as I feel as though it has had such a great influence on my life.

I would love to hear about how you spend your mornings and if you haven't read "Miracle Morning" or tried Wim Hof Breathing Method I hope I have inspired you to do so.

Love & Gratitude Always,

Nina x
